There are some amazing kitchen color trends happening on the design scene today. You guys know I’m a sucker for a white and grey marbled cooking retreat, so I’m not saying neutral kitchens are going away any time soon. However, these colorful trends for the kitchen are worthy of sharing.
If you’re daring and ready to make a bold kitchen color statement, here are a few options:
Try two-toned kitchen cabinets. Many cabinet manufacturers are opening up their product lines to include them. If used correctly, two-toned cabinets can enhance the layout of your space. By using darker floor cabinets, the space will have the illusion of a higher ceiling.
Paint your kitchen island to create an instant focal point and ground the room.
Install a colorful back-splash in addition to your white subway tile. Patterned tile accents ranging from stone, cement, glass, or mosaics make the possibilities endless.

If you’re not ready to go as bold with color, you can incorporate it in a more subtle way.
You could install open shelving or glass cabinetry to display colorful dishes, glassware, and accessories.
Use bold fabric patterns on window treatments and linens in vibrant colors. Or, infuse color as done with these sunny yellow seats.
If your going subtle, use decorative accents that allow you to change up the color palette down the road. This is essential if you may be considering selling your home in a few years. Keep the majority of your kitchen design neutral and incorporate colorful, less permanent accessories. With proper staging, potential buyers will be able to see how they too can incorporate their sense of style into the kitchen.
I always encourage my clients to think about the feeling they want to create in any room design. If you enjoy cooking and drinking wine, while listening to Sinatra, then you should choose a more soothing, soft color palette. If margaritas and taco night with friends is more your style, then go bold with color. You can’t go wrong either way and your home will be a reflection of you!
If kitchen color is lacking from your home, this should certainly get your creative juices flowing. If you’re still a bit indecisive on how to incorporate color in your kitchen, feel free to reach out to me here! I’d love to help.
