Your Home Reset for Spring: Cleaning & Space Clearing

As we move toward the Spring Equinox, many of us begin to feel a shift. Even if the weather hasn’t fully caught up, something internally starts to stir—new ideas, renewed energy, and a quiet pull toward movement.

The equinox marks the transition from winter into spring, from the stillness of yin into the rising energy of yang. In Five Element theory, we move from the water phase of winter into the wood phase of spring.

But the equinox itself is a pause between the two.

It’s a moment to slow down, ground yourself, and check in before the momentum of spring begins to build. Because once it does, things tend to move quickly. One of the most supportive ways to navigate this shift is by aligning your home with the season.

Most of us associate spring with cleaning, but this time of year asks for a more intentional reset. Winter often leaves behind dust, clutter, and stagnant energy that quietly collects over time. Spring is when we move beyond our typical cleaning routines and focus on the areas that are easily overlooked—corners, baseboards, area rugs, behind furniture, and air vents.

From a Mind Body Home perspective, your floors represent grounding and support. When you clean them with intention, you’re symbolically preparing the foundation for what you want to grow next.

Another simple shift is refreshing your textiles. Drapery, bedding, pillow covers, and throws hold onto energy over time. Giving them a seasonal refresh not only maintains their quality but also helps your home feel lighter and more aligned. Materials like cotton and linen are plant-based, making them natural expressions of the wood element.

This is also a beautiful time to bring more intention into your everyday routines. Even something as simple as your cleaning products can shift the energy of your home. A natural cleaner made with essential oils—especially citrus—can help lift and brighten the atmosphere of a space.

But more importantly, it invites awareness.

Instead of moving through your home on autopilot, you begin to engage with it more consciously. You might set a simple intention as you clean: I am supported as I move forward. I am grounded as my life expands. Spring carries momentum, and intention is what helps you stay rooted within it.

From there, consider how your space feels—not just how it looks. Rearranging furniture, moving décor, or clearing surfaces can create a noticeable shift in your personal energy. Even small changes can help your home feel more open and supportive.

The final step is to clear and re-energize the space. While smoke clearing is common, you may also use sound clearing. Sound moves energy quickly and safely through a home, without the need for fire or smoke.

Using tingsha bells, I move through my space starting at the front door and working around each room, paying attention to corners, closets, and areas where energy tends to settle. Afterward, I return to the center of my home, light a candle, and set an intention for the season ahead. This simple ritual helps anchor the energy and allows your home to support what you’re calling in.

This Sacred Space Clearing Kit was created to support this practice, bringing together simple tools to clear, reset, and anchor intention within the home.

As the season begins to shift, this is your invitation to reset. Not all at once, but just enough to create space for what’s next. Bring in light, movement, and life, and allow your home to support the direction you’re growing toward this spring.
