Do This Before Summer: 5 Ways to Reset Your Home, Body, and Mind

As the energy of summer begins to stir, many of us find ourselves craving a break—from busyness, from digital distractions, and from the weight of everyday upkeep. But slowing down isn’t something that just happens. It’s something we consciously choose.
In Episode 100 of the Mind Body Home podcast, I’m inviting you to do just that: slow down, reset, and realign before summer officially arrives. After all, alignment is what brings balance—not perfection.
Here are five ways to reset your home, body, and mind this season:
1. Take 5 Minutes to Reset Your Home Pick one time each day—morning or evening—and do a quick five-minute reset. Fluff the pillows, wipe the counters, fold the laundry, or tidy your nightstand. This small act trains your nervous system to expect calm, not chaos. It’s not about a perfectly clean home—it’s about resetting your energy.
2. Detox Your Bedroom for Better Sleep Your bedroom is your sanctuary. But if it's cluttered with laundry, electronics, or workout gear, it’s also cluttering your rest. Assess your space: Do you feel rested when you wake up? If not, remove the distractions and create a soft, supportive environment.
3. Clear the Digital Clutter Old emails, open browser tabs, photos you haven’t organized—they’re not just taking up space on your devices. They’re jamming up your energy. 4. Create a Space for Creative Expression Summer is ruled by the fire element, which governs passion and creativity. What lights you up? Make space—physically and energetically—for that pursuit. Even a tiny nook for journaling, painting, or reading can become your seasonal sanctuary.
5. Check In with Your Year We're nearly halfway through the year. Are your days reflecting what matters most to you? Take a few moments to reassess. You might not need to do more—just refine what’s already there.
